Columbia SC Photographer | What to Wear

How about that weather lately? Here in South Carolina it’s been 80 degrees one day to 40 degrees the next and then on to a gloomy and rainy 60 degree day. My little girl and I do enjoy those sunny 80 and usually take full advantage of those by spending the day outside. With the weather being so random, I figured it would be a good time to share some ideas on what to wear for your upcoming Portrait sessions.

For the cold days….

For those warm days…..

Finally, just because I’m an expecting mom who has been spending the last month shopping for the perfect outfit for my Maternity Portraits.

I wanted to include a little something for my Expecting Moms…..

Columbia SC Photographer | The {C} Family

I love getting those awesome clients who enjoy life as a family. You know, the ones where you can tell by how silly and great the kids are that their parents are really involved! Yep, those!

Last week I got to photograph the Cruz Family and had a blast doing it. I broke the ice by falling flat on my butt while trying to get an awesome shot of the kids alone. Haha! Yeah, clumsy me! It got a good laugh out of them though. The kids were funny & liked to goof off a bit which always makes for fun sessions.

Thank you guys for letting me get a glimpse into your life! Enjoy your sneak peek!

PS Mairyn – You’ll have to be sure to tell Jacob that I was right, the Razorbacks won. Haha! 🙂  Can’t wait to capture your sweet family again!

Of course, I have to throw in one of my BW’s. Black & White images are my alltime favorite and I always have to slap my hand to keep from turning every image into a beautiful BW image. So here’s one that speaks to my soul! Hope you like it.

“A baby girl… one of the most beautiful miracles in life, one of the greatest joys we can ever know, and one of the reasons why there is a little extra sunshine, laughter and happiness in your world today.”                 Author Unknown

Oh how I love newborn babies! The sweet little button noses, puckered lips, wisps of hair….they truly are one of the most beautiful miracles in life. It’s so special to capture these tiny details that we all sometimes forget so you can remember when she was that tiny. I can speak from experience when I say they grow fast!

Congratulations Ashley & Jeff! I know she’ll bring you joy for the rest of your lives.

Columbia SC Photographer | Welcome Home {OpLove}

As many of you have read before, OpLove sessions hold a special place in my heart. As a military wife I hope & pray that when my husband deploys that someone can be there to capture moments like this for us.

OpLove moments are filled with love, sadness, loneliness, happiness, etc. I can say that my favorite moments are those when a family is reunited. Seeing & capturing the surprise, anxiety, love, and happiness on their faces gives me such joy! It makes my heart so happy to see a military family reunited with their deployed servicemember. I’m glad I get to share these moments with all of you!

To the G Family, thank you for all that you sacrifice & give to our country! Welcome home!

Columbia SC Photographer | The {U} Family

I must tell you, one of the best things about my job & my husband being in the military is all the fabulous people I meet. I get meet so many new people and get to hear so many stories; it’s so great! I enjoy getting to know my clients & being able to be a part of their lives. Even if I’ve only spent a couple hours in their presence; just photographing their moments allows you to see into their lives. You get to see the love that they feel for each other; how much she means to him….how much he still takes her breath away….their handsome baby boy who grows before your eyes….the beautiful little life they made together.

Thank you Audrie & Palmer for allowing me to see into just a few moments of your lives! Little M is too sweet & I enjoyed photographing your sweet family!! Here’s a little sneak peek. Happy Sunday!!

Columbia SC Maternity Photographer | {R} Maternity

I documented my dear friend Olyvia’s pregnancy this past weekend. Her and David are welcoming their first little bundle of joy into this world. I can say as a mom of one, it is the best thing you’ll ever do in your life! The love you feel for your child is unlike any other!! Babies are so sweet & innocent, loving & trusting.

I can’t wait to meet her guys so I know your anticipation is much worse than mine! Haha! I know she’s going to be a lucky little girl to have you two as parents! Enjoy!

Columbia SC Photographer | An American Hero leaves home {OpLove}

As a military wife myself, I understand how unpredictable our lifestyle can be. You can be enjoying a nice dinner out as a family & everything is peaceful….happy! What you don’t know is that a couple hours from now, your own Hero will find out he’s getting deployed. Deployed – Words all military spouses do not want to hear. Although, even though we don’t want to hear it & somehow always know it’s coming. We step up & stand beside our men {or women} and support them as they prepare to not only go defend our country but also leave the comfort of their own homes and us loved ones behind. Even a short deployment can be hard on a family, especially when there are little ones! Ultimately our thoughts always go to our children during these times. Not only do we need to step up and support our spouse while they are deployed but we also have to be both parents for our kids during this time. It’s a trying time for everyone involved.

Let me take this time to thank you Hope & your husband for all that you do and sacrifice for our country! I am truly grateful; as a military wife, a mother, and most of all an American!  OpLove has given me the opportunity to give back to all that give so much for us & I hope that these images I captured help ease the distance if only a little bit. I can’t wait to photograph your Homecoming when your Hero comes home! Thank you!!

Sometimes Peek-a-Boo is the best game to play during tough times! 🙂 Nothing but smiles! This little girl was such a trooper! No tears or anything. Just enjoyed the playtime during our session that she got to spend with her Dad & Mom!
