Our Process

Session Consultation

All our sessions start with a free consultation. This will allow you to meet the photographer and discuss any ideas or visions you have for your portraits. I will have a packet for you that include a pricelist, the policies and a portrait contract. This is a great time to ask any questions you might have. We will also discuss how you can prepare for your session, the location and any other ideas you might have. At the end of the consultation, you may book your session. A $100 non-refundable deposit will be required to hold your session date. This deposit is applied to the balance of any package that you have chosen for your session.

Portrait Session

The day of your session; please arrive on time. Make sure to get plenty of rest the night before and eat well before you come. Being sleepy and hungry is never a good thing; especially when you’ve got somewhere fun to be. It is my job to capture the moments for you to treasure! Boy, do I love what I do! I can’t wait to document all those little things that make your newborn baby look so new or you interacting with your sweet children. I do understand little ones can deter us from arriving on time occasionally. However, if you are more than 30 minutes late we may have to reschedule. At the end of your session we will schedule a print consultation for you to view your images.

Print Consultation

This consultation will be scheduled at the end of your session; usually 2-3 weeks after your session. Please understand that during the holidays it might take me the full 3 weeks. However, if I finish early I will be sure to contact you so we can move your print consultation up and get those gorgeous wall prints ordered so you can cover the walls of your home with the joys of your life! After all, why do we have portraits taken if we aren’t going to show them off to each and every person that walks into our home. This session usually takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and half; so please schedule a time when you won’t feel rushed to make your choices. One thing I can ensure my clients is that I do understand the demands of work, school or having little ones at home. I do my utmost best to help my clients out and schedule a time that works best for all of us. Before your print consultation, please sit down and make a list of who all you “know” you will want to give prints to. Ex: Grandparents 8×10, Aunts/Uncles 5×7, cousins and friends wallets; etc. By you bringing this list to your session with you; it helps you make your choices based on your favorite images and you’ll already know how many you’ll need. If you have a special spot on your wall that you know you want to fill with these gorgeous images; measure it before you come. Better yet, call me. I certainly don’t mind dropping by with my tape measurer to help you figure out what size prints you want for your own home. We can do this before your print consultation so you already know what sizes you need when you come in. You will need to pay the remainder of your package at this session and for any additional prints or products you wish to order. The $100 deposit from your session consultation is used towards this balance.
We have used online ordering in the past however, most of our clients have found it confusing and difficult to navigate. Once your print order is placed; I do offer an online gallery for you to share the images with your family and friends.

Order Pickup/Delivery

I must admit; I have a pretty terrific lab. They make me a very happy photographer….and mommy as well. I use them for the portraits of my family to adorn my own walls in my home as well. I will have your order ready for pickup or delivery within 1-2 weeks of your print consultation. The earlier your order arrives; the earlier you get them. I normally like to deliver my clients order to their doorstep. However, if you are so excited you can’t wait until my normal delivery days you are more than welcome to stop by my home and pick them up once they arrive.  CAE Photography is also a proud vendor of The Organic Bloom frames. You can view some examples of these frames when you visit for your consultation or on my facebook page. They are gorgeous, spunky frames that come in a wide variety of colors.
